Soybean Harvesting

The process begins with the harvesting of soybeans, which are legumes grown primarily for food production. Soybeans are typically cultivated in large agricultural fields.Soybean Processing: After harvesting, the soybeans go through a series of processing steps to extract the oil from them. The beans are cleaned, dehulled (removal of the outer hull),& cracked to separate the cotyledon (the edible part) from the hull.Oil Extraction: The cotyledon, or soybean meat, is subjected to a mechanical or solvent extraction process to obtain soybean oil. Mechanical extraction involves pressing the soybeans under high pressure to squeeze out the oil, while solvent extraction uses hexane or other solvents to dissolve the oil from the soybean flakes.Degumming & Refining: The extracted soybean oil is then subjected to a degumming process to remove impurities like phospholipids. Refining processes such as neutralization, bleaching, and deodorization are employed to further purify the oil & remove any undesirable odor, color, or taste.Hydrogenation (Optional): In some cases, the refined soybean oil may undergo a hydrogenation process to transform it into a solid state, resulting in hydrogenated soybean oil or soy wax. This step increases the melting point and stability of the oil, making it suitable for candle production.Soy Wax Production: If hydrogenation is not performed, the refined soybean oil can still be used to produce soy wax by a different method. The oil is blended with a small amount of additives, such as natural vegetable waxes or botanical oils, to improve the performance and characteristics of the wax.Candle Manufacturing:The soy wax is then melted and combined with fragrance oils, essential oils,& colorants, if desired. The mixture is poured into candle molds or containers and left to cool and solidify. Wicks are inserted,& the candles are trimmed & labeled before being ready for use. It's important to note that the specific process and additives used may vary among manufacturers, but the general steps outlined above provide an overview of how wax is made from soybeans.Soy wax is highly favored for candle production due to its renewable and biodegradable nature, clean-burning properties, and ability to hold fragrance well. It is a popular choice for those seeking environmentally friendly and sustainable candle options

Holistic Soy Wax Candles

soy wax is often considered a holistic product and is commonly used to produce holistic soy wax candles. Here's why soy wax is regarded as a holistic choice for candle-making: Natural and Renewable: Soy wax is derived from soybean oil, which is extracted from soybeans, a natural and renewable resource. It is a plant-based alternative to traditional paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum, a non-renewable fossil fuel. Choosing soy wax aligns with holistic principles of using natural and sustainable materials.Non-Toxic and Clean-Burning: Soy wax is known for its clean-burning properties. It produces minimal soot, smoke, and harmful toxins when compared to paraffin wax candles. This makes it a healthier and safer choice for both the environment and human health. Burning soy wax candles promotes cleaner indoor air quality, reducing the risk of respiratory issues and allergies.Biodegradable and Environmentally Friendly: Soy wax is biodegradable, which means it breaks down naturally over time, without leaving behind harmful residues. This makes soy wax candles an environmentally friendly option that minimizes the impact on ecosystems and landfills.Sustainable and Supportive of Farmers: Soybeans are typically grown using sustainable agricultural practices. Choosing soy wax candles supports farmers who cultivate soybeans using environmentally conscious methods, such as crop rotation and reduced pesticide use. Longer Burn Time and Fragrance Retention: Soy wax has a lower melting point than paraffin wax, allowing soy candles to burn slower and have a longer burn time. Additionally, soy wax has excellent fragrance-holding properties, meaning it can hold and release scents more effectively. This allows for a more consistent and aromatic experience when burning soy wax candles.Cruelty-Free and Vegan: Soy wax is inherently cruelty-free and suitable for vegans as it is derived from plant-based sources. It does not involve any animal by-products or testing, making it an ethical choice for those following a vegan or cruelty-free lifestyle. By using soy wax as the base material for holistic candles, you are promoting a more natural, sustainable, and environmentally conscious approach to candle-making. The holistic nature of soy wax aligns with a holistic lifestyle that values overall well-being, harmony with nature, and sustainable practices.
